This is a very special picture of some very special people who have been a great influence on me. They are survivors that didn't even let a devastating plane crash hold them back. Thus the old saying"Its not whether you get knocked down that matters most, it's if you get back up." I got to meet Rickey Medlocke who is in this picture back in 1990. He knew who I was and asked for my autograph. I will never forget that, very nice person. After only four years of original recordings behind them that went from 73-77, they will be joining the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in March. If they had not picked themselves back up after losing three key members including their lead singer,Ronnie VanZant, I doubt this would have ever happened.
